NAMORI, drummer, singer and composer of exceptional talent was born in the Ivory Coast. He was only 10 years old when he began performing professionally. Quickly discovered by some of Africa’s greatest singers, he began touring the capitals of Western Africa with them as drummer.
In the nineties, his musical tours took him throughout Europe, North America and Africa with AWANA, the group he manages. With his group he records two albums, one produced in Canada, in 1999, with Disques Nuits d’Afrique with the participation of the famous Canadian and ex-UZEB guitarist and composer, Michel Cusson,
A resident of Montreal since 2001, NAMORI is pursuing his quest for "sound fusion" and is involved in numerous projects with renowned Canadian artists (Jean Leloup, Michel Cusson, Senaya and others) as he prepares his next musical creation.
In June of 2006, NAMORI released his first solo album Gui Blo or ‘’Reflexions’’ in Gouro, his mother's native African dialect. With this new creation, NAMORI blends African rythms, jazz, reggae, rock and soul to traditional songs that inspire him. In the same breadth, and after having appeared in more than a hundred concerts throughout Canada, he launched, in 2010, his second solo album, Question Mark. This latest creation reveals the maturity of the artist both in the recording studio and live performances.
